I’ve decided to take some time away to go travelling. And over the past few weeks, everyone has been asking me the same question: “what is that smell?” But after I convince them it’s not coming from me, I then get another question, or often several in succession: “What?? Why? Where are you going?” I’ll take those one at a time.
What are you thinking??
Well on a given day, I’m thinking mostly about pie. Though in regards to life, I’ve made the brutally tough decision, and left my job and subletted my apartment and now I’m going to travel for a while. I have only a general idea where I’m going to go and I have no real idea of where I want to end up.
Why would you do that?? Don’t you know your apartment is awesome?
Well yes, I do realize this. I love my little loft. However, I have to leave behind plenty of awesomeness like friends, family and a giant sack of flour I’ll never get to the bottom of in the next few days. But when it comes down to it, there are too many things to do in this world. Too many sights to see, and people to meet. (Too many clichés to spout.)
Alright, so then where are you going?
First I’m going to a resort in Mexico for a friend’s wedding. A whole pile of us are going. It should be a good way to relax and decompress. And though I may look Irish normally, I won’t have any trouble blending in.
Then when I get back, it’s road trip time. I know I have to be in Toronto to see Conan O’Brien on the 22nd. Other than that I’m leaving it pretty open. I may head all the way west, or I may get to Toronto then head own the Eastern US. Or maybe I’ll get crazy and drive up Alaska, wait for winter, and drive over the frozen sea to Russia. I think the Mini can handle that.
Blogggs!
While I’m gone, I’ll be blogging here. And I’ll be tweeting over here. And I’ll be posting photos over here. And if you’re lucky, some video blogs might even make their way here. Assuming my MacBook doesn’t have a heart attack, that is.
Lastly, here’s the symbol of my trip, and a testament to how awesome my travel friends are, given to me at a farewell dinner last night:

You will be missed (by some people i’m sure)…
I’m looking forward to living vicariously through your travel blog.
Have a blast Angus!!
Brilliant idea! Hopefully we’ll run into you in NT at some point. Have fun!
