No upcoming trips scheduled

I’m just about to leave Calgary, and since landing I haven’t stopped moving. Three days in a row with an approximate 7am-2am schedule. I’ve been staying with Jason and every day he’d barrel down over the stairs and exclaim, “I’m getting married [in two days / tomorrow / today]!”

(I’m not much of a morning grump, but I wasn’t nearly as chipper.)

Anyhow, the whole thing was great. They did both a western and east Indian ceremony, the latter of which was simply stunning. The emotions were crazytown after what it took for the couple to come together and everyone on both sides are the nicest folk you’ll meet.

While taking the photos, we had a run-in with the police. (I won’t go into it, but I’ll just say if I’m ever caught on railway tracks again, I’m getting a very expensive ticket.) Terrence Law, the photographer, was awesome though. While we ate, he put together a slideshow of the photos he took that day. They still blew my face off, and I had seen the whole thing in person.

After the eats, the DJ spun a combination of western and Indian music, and mixed it all together. And I danced, oh how I danced.

Old friends, new friends…I can’t even explain. Leah, Jason and I were in the same place since high school and only Jason seemed to think it not surreal that he was getting married.

I posted some photos on flickr. I’ve also got a bunch of videos that I’ll edit together and post at some point.

Wedding time

And now I’m off to Vancouver for the final leg of this trip. I don’t think even an Olympic city can top the last two legs, but time will tell. Well, not time. I will tell. You. Here. In a week.
